- International exports accounted for 39.2% of Alberta's GDP in 2005.
- Alberta's exports of goods and services more than tripled between 1995 and 2005 to about $86.9 billion. A growing number of those exports are manufactured products and services.
- Exports of manufactured products rose 121% between 1995 and 2005.
- Alberta is a trading province and must increase exports of value-added goods and services in order to expand its economy. Alberta's exports are currently made up of a diversified combination of industry sectors, such as agri-food, lumber, aerospace, communications and information technology equipment, household furniture, and petrochemicals, to name a few.
