Alberta Taiwan Office
Taiwan is one of Alberta's important trade and investment partners.
The Alberta government established the representative office in Taiwan - the Alberta Taiwan Office [ATO] - in 1988 for continual development and strengthening of the business relationships.
The ATO plays the bridging role to both Alberta and Taiwan buisnesses and organizations to enhance the trade and investment activities between the two regions. The ATO is dedicated to facilitative support to the Alberta public and private sectors to identify business opportunities in Taiwan, as well as establishing partnerships with Taiwan companies to pursue business opportunities in the Greater China region [including Taiwan, China and Hong Kong].
The ATO also assists Taiwan companies, by helping them to identify investment opportunities in Alberta - introducing them to potential partners, and providing market and other investment related information - as Alberta is the gateway to the vast North American market.
Since 1993, the Alberta Taiwan Office has been co-located with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei. The Canadian Trade Office provides information exchange, logistical assistance to visiting delegates from and to Alberta, in addition to assistance for special events and programs related to trade, investment, tourism and education promotion.
