Alberta Taiwan Office
The Alberta Taiwan Office (ATO) was established in 1988 to develop and strengthen business relationships and cultural exchanges between Alberta and Taiwan.
It is one of four offices that together make up the Greater China Team. The other offices are:
The ATO plays a bridging role for both Alberta and Taiwan businesses and organizations. The ATO:
- Enhances trade and investment activities and cultural exchanges between the two regions
- Supports the Alberta public/private sectors in identifying business opportunities in Taiwan
- Helps Alberta businesses establish partnerships with Taiwan companies in the Greater China region (including Taiwan, mainland China and Hong Kong)
- Helps Taiwan companies identify investment opportunities and introduces them to potential partners
- Provides market and other investment related information
Since 1993, the Alberta Taiwan Office has been co-located with the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei. It provides:
- Information intelligence
- Logistical assistance to delegates visiting from Alberta
- Assistance for special events and programs related to trade, investment, and tourism and education promotion
Services the ATO offers Alberta businesses:
- Consultation on local business practices and advice on language and cultural considerations to Alberta firms looking to do business in Taiwan
- Assistance in identifying potential business partners, business introductions, referrals and appointments, and meeting arrangements
- Assistance in planning business trips to Taiwan and other travel logistics

- Assistance with establishing bi-lateral contacts
- Investment related consultation and information on Alberta's economy, taxes and regulations
