The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (formerly known as the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program) is an employer driven worker immigration program operated by the Alberta Government. The AINP team began their Lean journey in Autumn, 2005 to improve the processing of applications. Within six months, they achieved dramatic improvements in their productivity.

FARR Canada, a manufacturer and distributor of hydraulic power tongs for the petroleum industry, started a Lean initiative in September 2005 called the Value in Process, or VIP program. Their efforts helped to greatly streamline the production output of the company, with remarkable results.

Plains Fabrication & Supply, a steel fabrication company in Calgary, Alberta, decided to go Lean in Spring, 2005 to increase business profits and build a new manufacturing facility. A year with Lean led the company to an impressive turn of fortune.
