Alberta's post-secondary institutions have a number of international linkages - and people from all over the world come to study here. A degree, diploma or certificate obtained in Alberta is globally recognized, and there are a variety of programs to choose from:

  • Agriculture
  • Business

  • Social work
Programs are offered in many different formats to help fit student schedules. Full and part-time, evening, distance and Internet classes are available.

Approximately 250,000 full- and part-time students are enrolled in the public post-secondary education system. In total, Alberta's four universities have over 111,200 full- and part-time students in attendance. Alberta also has over 46,472 registered apprentices in 51 trades.

Most Alberta cities and towns also offer community-based programming, often through district further-education councils. Night and weekend courses are great ways to keep skills current. As the nature of business and technology continue to evolve, continuing-education programs offer students the opportunity to acquire new skills while employed.
