Tourism is a $5 billion industry in Alberta that employs more than 111,000 people.

The staff from the Tourism Business Development, Research and Investment Branch assess tourism investment opportunities and link them to interested investors and financial resources. Branch staff work to provide an assessment and linking of investor interests and financial resources with appropriate tourism development and investment opportunities.

An annual Tourism Investment Symposium is coordinated by the Branch to provide Alberta communities with opportunities to profile land-based, for-profit tourism investment projects and generate investor interest and new business.

The Branch also works closely to identify and target domestic and international investors and to promote joint venture tourism investment opportunities with Alberta based companies.
