Associations
A number of associations in Alberta and across Canada facilitate research towards the development of the energy technology and services. These associations also provide forums for information sharing and industry promotion among businesses in Canada’s energy sector.

Canadian Association of Geophysical Contractors (CAGC)
The CAGC is a national association that provides support to businesses in the geophysical industry. The CAGC acts as an industry advocate and forum, promotes industry standards and regulation, and provides industry safety education and training. -
Canadian Association of Mining Equipment and Services for Export (CAMESE)
CAMESE is a trade association of Canadian member companies offering products and services to the mining industry. It was established in 1981 for the purpose of assisting members in exporting their goods and services. -
Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC)
The CAODC is a trade association representing upstream Canadian petroleum drilling and service rig contractors operating in Canada land- and offshore-based operations, service rig contractors and associate companies. This sector is a labour intensive segment of the petroleum industry, providing direct jobs to thousands of Canadians. -
Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP)
CAPP serves to enhance the economic well-being and sustainability of Canada's oil and natural gas industry in a socially, environmentally and technically responsible and safe manner. -
Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA)
CEPA represents Canada’s transmission pipeline companies; transmission pipelines transport nearly all of Canada’s daily crude oil and natural gas production from producing regions to markets throughout Canada and the United States. -
Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI)
CERI provides economic research and education in energy and environmental issues to benefit business, government, academia and the public. -
Canadian Heavy Oil Association (CHOA)
The mandate of the CHOA is to provide a forum for networking and technical information exchange for a membership of individuals in the Heavy Oil and Oil Sand Industry. -
Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG)
The CSEG is a national association dedicated to promoting the science of geophysics and geophysical exploration, and to stimulate cooperation among geophysical prospecting associates and service providers. -
Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG)
The mandate of the CSPG is to promote continued innovation and development of the petroleum geology sector, and to act as a liaison for companies in the petroleum geology industry. -
Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas (CSUG) The Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas is a nonprofit, industry funded association that advocates for the responsible development of Canada’s unconventional natural gas resource.

Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC)
The CIAC is Canada’s national chemical trade association whose members operate around 200 chemical and resin manufacturing sites across the country. CIAC provides industry education and training for its member companies, and promotes the chemical sector in Canada. -
Enform
Enform is the training, certification and health and safety services arm of the upstream petroleum industry. -
Gas Processing Association Canada (GPAC)
GPAC is a non-profit organization formed to promote the interaction and exchange of ideas and technology to those involved with or affected by the hydrocarbon processing industry. -
Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC)
PSAC is the national association of Canadian oilfield service, supply and manufacturing companies. The Association’s mission, through effective presentation to government, industry and the public, is to protect, promote and pursue the interest of its members and to advocate standards, training, information dissemination and a code of ethics.
