Status of applications

Submitting your application to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

You must meet all criteria for your stream or category before submitting an application to the AINP. You must also submit a complete application with all supporting documents.

Please note that if you do not submit a complete application with all supporting documents or if you do not meet minimum requirements, your application may be returned to you.

If you send a complete application, you will be notified that your application has been received and you will be provided with a file number.

Employer Driven Stream Processing Times

When an employer and candidate submit their application to the AINP under the Employer Driven Stream, this application will be assessed in two parts.

First, the employer will be assessed by an AINP Program Officer. Employer assessments are currently being processed in approximately 60 – 90 working days. Once an employer is approved, the candidate is then assessed. Candidate assessments are currently being processed in approximately 40 – 60 working days.

During our assessment of your application you will only be contacted by a Program Officer if we require additional information. Please do not call to inquire about the status of your application as this will increase our processing times.

Family Stream Processing Times

When a sponsor and candidate submit their application to the AINP under the Family Stream eligibility for both sponsor and candidate are assessed at the same time.

If you send a complete application, and you are notified that your application has been received, you will be provided with a file number and an approximate timeline for processing.

During our assessment of your application you will only be contacted by a Program Officer if we require additional information. Please do not call to inquire about the status of your application as this will increase our processing times.
