Early childhood educators and daycare workers

Criteria for employers (includes but is not limited to):

  • An Employer must be accredited with the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services.

  • An Employer must meet conditions such as salary and accommodation as outlined in the Service Canada Labour Market Opinion Confirmation.
     
  • An Employer may apply for one allocation per property, per year.
     
  • An Employer must submit a PN Candidate who has the required qualifications, has demonstrated excellent work performance and will contribute to the long term success of the company.

Provincial Nominee criteria (includes but is not limited to):

  • The PN Candidate must hold a work permit under the NOC occupational group of 4214 and be residing in Alberta.
     
  • The PN Candidate must have completed a minimum of high school education.
     
  • The PN Candidate must obtain a Level 2 or 3 Primary Day Care Worker certificate issued through Alberta Children's Services Day Care Staff Qualifications Office.
     
  • The PN Candidate must be employed in Alberta for a minimum of 6 months and meet or exceed all employer established work and performance standards before being nominated for the PNP.
     
  • Preference will be given to PN Candidates who have completed the First Aid course.
