SESSION 1: Energy (Oil/Gas) – "How high is high; is it forever?"
As recently as early 2002, oil traded at US$20 per barrel and NYMEX gas in North America traded as low as US$2. Recently, oil has traded over US$75, with gas over US$15. Can global economic growth continue at these higher levels, or might they cause an economic meltdown? What can be done to moderate the dramatic swings in energy costs, or is that just the "market" working?
