Aerospace has been designated as one of Alberta’s key emerging sectors, with rapid and significant growth potential. The following initiatives are being implemented by Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry to ensure the sustainable development of this important sector.

Implement an Alberta Aerospace and Defense Strategy
Develop/refine the Alberta Aerospace Database
Develop an Alberta HR Strategy/Canadian Aerospace Human Resources Strategy
In concert with Apprenticeship and Industry Training, implement the Small Airports Strategy
Investment Attraction and Trade Development
Provide market and global sector intelligence to assist companies seeking alternative suppliers and buyers
Increase exports of aerospace, defence and related industry goods and services into key international markets
Create a SME export/import development program

Strengthen association interface

Productivity Workshops
Promote the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and How to Hire a Foreign Worker sessions
Promote participation in Lean Manufacturing Seminars and Alberta Employment, Immigration and Industry’s Lean Enterprise Assessment Program (LEAP). See:
