Construction
From small landscaping jobs to billion dollar industrial projects, Alberta's construction sector serves all industries of the economy and consistently demonstrates excellent performance, quality, productivity and safety.
Alberta's construction sector is made up of both general and specialty contracting firms and tradespeople. Construction service providers are engaged in industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential construction and also handle infrastructure, renovation, and repair projects, as well as providing maintenance services.
Alberta's construction sector includes both union and non-union tradespeople. A superior work ethic is an important part of the province's ability to attract industries to build plants in the province.
Cooperation among the trade unions, associations and business owners has been another key factor in the success of Alberta's construction industry. The leadership role of the Construction Owners Association of Alberta (COAA) in fostering this cooperation is commendable.
Alberta is fortunate to be home to a number of leading Canadian contractors.
