Accommodation use

In 2009 the Northeast Region had 45 accommodation properties with a total of 2,841 rooms; thus making up a 4.5% share of available rooms in Alberta. The greatest demand for rooms came from industrial crews, who made up 42.4% of room demand, followed by business travelers at 32.1%. The average occupancy rate in the region was 53.4%, compared to the provincial average of 58.6%. The average room rate was $93.41, 16.7% lower than the provincial average of $112.19.
