It was $291 billion in 2008, roughly the size of the state of Minnesota.

What is Alberta's labour productivity?
Alberta's labour productivity, measured as GDP per hour worked, was $47.79 per hour, the highest of all provinces. However, between 1998 and 2008 Alberta's growth in labour productivity was only 0.6% per year, the lowest growth rate of all provinces and the result of declining productivity in the oil and gas sector.

What is Alberta's capital investment per capita?
In 2009, Alberta's capital investment was $18,024 on a per capita basis, almost double the Canadian average of $9,174 per capita.

What is Alberta's economic growth rate?
Even with the recent economic slowdown, Alberta has the highest average provincial economic growth rate over the past 20 years. Alberta's average annual GDP growth rate between 1989 and 2009 was an estimated 3.1% per year, compared with Canada's average growth of 2.3% per year.  (Note: Alberta's GDP remained stable in 2008 and fell by 5.1% in 2009).
