Currently there are 12 Alberta firms in this sub-sector, employing approximately 1,200 highly qualified and skilled people. This niche generates $264 million worth of products, 60% of which are exported. Alberta companies are making and maintaining the Canadian Forces’ communications systems, software, specialized sensors, and other electronic components used in military applications.
